RV HATCHLIFT KITS

$54.99
Product Description

Hatchlift Kits are retro-fit hydraulic door lift systems that provide assistance with opening and closing lightweight RV baggage compartment doors.

Door lift design uses a secured mounting base plate to keep curved door bracket from pulling free.  The curved door bracket allows multi-position door opening angles from 90 degrees for use under slide-outs to fully open height angles of 160 degrees. (U.S. Patent Number 8,839,559).

No other use is intended or supported. Install on 5th wheels, Travel Trailers, and Motor Homes.  Contact us if your door has slam latches.

RV Hatchlift Kits FAQs

Can I install the kit when the temperature is below 50 degrees?

Yes, Preheat the plate attachment area of the door with a hair dryer, etc., before installing the mounting plate. After installing the plate, keep the baggage compartment at 50 degrees or warmer for a minimum of 48 hours before putting the Hatchlift in service.

What is the best angle of the door (when open) for the lift kit install when a slide out is not over it?

We recommend setting the initial door height from 140 to 160 degrees. After installation, you can always raise or lower the door position by adjusting the ball stud's location on the curve bracket.

I installed the mounting plate too high / low on the door, can the mounting plate be removed and reinstalled?

It is very difficult to remove the mounting plate after installing. We recommend adding a second plate where needed. You can order the HLK-PLATE REPAIR kit for the second plate.

Do I need to use shims for mounting the lower bracket on the inside wall of the storage compartment?

Wood shim blocks are included with the kit. They are the correct size for the right-angle bracket. Pre-drill holes before installing with the screws provided in the kit. Make sure you do not penetrate the outside wall of the RV!

Why do I need to disconnect the spring when not in use?

Disconnecting the springs can reduce the stress load placed on the door from the force of the spring and may also extend the life of the spring. Store in an upright position with the rod end pointing down.
